Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about rug cleaning, repair, appraisals, pickup, delivery, pricing, or rug care? Here are a few quick answers.

Rug Cleaning

Do you clean rugs in my home?

No. Rugs are cleaned at our dedicated rug cleaning facility where they can be properly washed, dried, and inspected. We use a traditional wet wash method with soap and water, then hang dry rugs in our climate-controlled drying room.

We clean many types of rugs, including wool rugs, silk rugs, Navajo rugs, Persian rugs, Oriental rugs, synthetic rugs, shag rugs, flatweaves, antique rugs, heirloom rugs, and everyday area rugs.

Area rugs cannot be properly cleaned inside the home like installed carpet. They need to be washed with soap and water on both the front and back of the rug. In-home carpet cleaning methods typically only clean the top surface, while professional rug cleaning allows for a deeper wash, proper drying, and inspection.

Yes. We treat pet urine odor with a highly effective live enzyme treatment. Stain removal depends on the rug, fiber type, and severity of the stain. We assess each rug individually and discuss treatment options before starting work.

We inspect each rug before cleaning and choose the safest process based on its material, dyes, construction, and condition. If we notice any concerns, we’ll discuss them with you before any work begins.

Most rugs should be professionally cleaned every 2–4 years depending on foot traffic, pets, spills, and where the rug is used.

Rug Repair

Yes. We offer rug repair services, including fringe repair, edge binding, serging, hole repair, reweaving, backing repair, pet damage repair, moth damage repair, and rug alterations.
Yes. We will give you an honest recommendation. If repair makes sense, we will explain the options. If the repair may cost more than the rug is worth, we will tell you.
Photos can help us provide an initial estimate. Some repairs need to be inspected in person before we can provide a final quote.
It depends on the rug and the repair. Some repairs can be quoted right away. Other issues may be easier to assess after cleaning.

Rug Appraisals

Do you offer rug appraisals?
Yes. We offer rug appraisals for insurance, estate, donation, sale, inheritance, and general value questions.
Photos can help with an initial review, but some appraisals may require an in-person inspection.
Helpful details include photos of the front and back, rug size, known history, receipts, labels, purchase information, and the reason for the appraisal.
Not always. Sometimes a rug should be reviewed in its current condition first. Other times, cleaning before appraisal may make sense. We can help you decide.

Rug Pads

Do I need a rug pad?
A rug pad can help prevent slipping, protect your floors, reduce wear, and make your rug feel better underfoot.
Yes. We offer custom-cut rug pads based on your rug size and floor type.
